Phoenix, AZ – Although saddened to hear that Mexico is joining America on the list of the world’s fattest countries (“Mexicans to collectively trim about 2 million pounds,” Jaime Zea, September 28, 2008), Ironbody founders Robert Vera and J.R. Rosania fully support the new efforts made by the Mexican government to counter the obesity trend in their country. “Every day we see the havoc that obesity wreaks on our own nation, especially in the area of health care costs,” Robert Vera comments. “I’m glad the Mexican government is taking a proactive stance to address their national problem with the age-old recipe of diet and exercise” – referring to national campaigns "Vamos Por Un Million de Kilos" (Let's Lose a Million Kilos) and "Vamos Por Mas Kilos," (Let's Lose More Kilos), meant to encourage Mexicans to collectively lose weight.
Through their proprietary online fitness and meal plan combo called “Iron90,” Vera and Rosania have committed to changing America’s national obesity standing. Like Mexico’s campaign, the Iron90 program combines a meal plan that encourages healthy eating with a heart rate focused exercise plan that can be done anyplace, anytime, without equipment or gym membership. “Losing weight is not rocket science, but it is scientific,” states Rosania. “We just wanted to make that science accessible and easy to everyone.” While their mission is far from complete, their Iron90 clients have collectively shed 1,000’s of pounds of fat…and counting!
